A funny comment from the MetaFilter post:
It’s all fun and games until the snapping turtles attack.
Also, is it just me or does this whole thing sound like the set-up for an old Scooby Doo episode?
“Gee, Daphne, we sure are lucky your dear Uncle Walter invited us to stay on his island resort for six months. If it weren’t for all the rumors about that spooky Witch Doctor, this would be just perfect!”
“Rooky ritch roctor?” *whimper*
“Like, don’t worry, Scoob, there’s nothing to those silly old stories.”
“Right! They’re just a load of superstitious island mumbo-jumbo. Now let’s to take a look at that abandoned fishing village!”
Little do they know that someone is watching them through the eyeholes of a nearby portrait! *SCARY STOCK MUSIC*
354. No More Snow, Please
It just stopped snowing again… but it’s supposed to start again tomorrow night.
Forecast for Wednesday (when I supposedly fly out to Seattle):
Snow. Blowing snow in the afternoon. Several inches of accumulation possible. Highs 12 to 16. Wind chills as low as 10 below to 20 below zero.
355. Meow
Googling yourself can lead to some weird findings.
Apparently, I am a cat.
356. Little Me

My hair still looks the same.
357-b. TinyMCE?
Does anyone reading this know how to skin TinyMCE really, really well?
If so, please contact me. It’s urgent, and you’ll be paid.
357. Budget Balancing Is Hard
358. Ugh
Tired.
Too much work.
I need to build up an archive of “real” posts to use in this situation…
359. Sleep? What Do You Mean, “Sleep”?
Seven days of straight blogging! Woo-hoo!
This is another “no time to actually post an entry of true substance” day. I technically started my day by taking Andrew to the urgent care center at 7:45 AM, where the lab results confirmed what we suspected: he has strep throat. I say “technically started the day” because I went to bed at 4:30 AM. After taking my sick boy home, I worked at H&R Block from 9 AM to 3 PM, then came home and read textbook chapters all evening and watched a lecture. I still need to work some more on the big freelance project, spend time with my husband without getting sick, and then, you know, sleep or something.
I’m mentally working on a “knitting manifesto” about my plans and goals for the new year in my major hobby. Maybe it’ll be complete in a day or two… or three. Maybe it’ll even have photos!
Maybe.
360. Epiphany
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my task list showed to me:
12 hooks to be hung on our new pot rack
11 loads of laundry
10 items to take to Goodwill
9 knitting projects in progress
8 days until I fly out to Seattle to visit Sarah for a week
7 thank-you cards to write
6 possible names to choose from for our new Roomba
5 people to e-mail at Penn about my bachelor’s degree (again)
4 days before the latest (and last) deadline for the big freelance project
3 choir songs to add downloads and/or lyrics to
2 publications to order from the IRS now that tax season is here
and 1 successfully activated DePaul University student ID.
361. A Nothing Post
One bad thing about posting a blog entry every day: some days, you just don’t feel like talking writing.
